What you may not know about Christmas

What do we call CHRISTMAS, and what do we mean when we say, “Merry Christmas!…”?

Where in the Bible have we seen the Disciples of Christ celebrating Jesus’ birthday or cutting down green trees and hanging all manner of things on them, or where has Christ mentioned anything about observing his birthday?

When the Bible tells us the devil is a liar, and the father of it, it is seen in the way he deceives many, even Christians. When he deceives, he will often mix his lies with what seems like the truth and serve it to the unwary who readily allows what he present them without asking questions.

One said that Christmas for Christians is to celebrate the birth of Jesus, and for others, it is a public holiday to celebrate with family and friends and to exchange gifts. That’s how the devil deceives. He’ll say, “You do it this way because you are a Christian and others do it their own way because they are not Christians” He makes the Christian feels he or she is keeping a ‘holy day’ and others are celebrating a ‘holiday’, he tries to make the deceived different from the other person, both in the real sense, they are the same. They still decorate Christmas trees, they still greet “Merry Christmas!” they still exchange gifts and do every other thing that every other person does on Christmas day.

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” – James 4:4

The problem with all the deception among Christians is the fact that many so-called are not familiar with what Christ teaches. Christ never failed to teach his disciples the most important things in his words while he was with them and he want those words to dwell in them

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

When we decorate ‘Christmas trees’, are we not following the way of the heathen who “cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.” – Jeremiah 10:3,4 ?

The tradition of bringing an evergreen tree into homes and decorating it began with heathen Greeks who used it to worship their god Adonia. They claimed Adonia was killed and brought back to life by the serpent Aessulapius. Therefore, when Christians decorate green Christmas trees with lights, glitter and tinsel, little do they know they are following the God-forbidden protocols of a pagan festival in honour of an idol god! You will not find in the scriptures any of the things normally associated with Christmas, such as the exchanging of gifts; the Christmas tree; the singing of carols; Santa Claus; the hanging of the mistletoe and the burning of the yule log. These are all of pagan origin. >> Read More

The word “Cristes Maesse”, is an early English phrase that means “Mass of Christ”, in which mass in Roman Catholic is a prayer read for a dead souldeath sacrifice

So are Christians actually celebrating the birth of Christ or his death? And they are “merry” about that!

Ye worship ye know not what… – John 4:22

This mockery and blasphemy which the enemy has successfully imbibed into many lives and homes is what we don’t know. Christ never thought his disciples frivolity, lightheartedness and what have you, let alone manifesting that in a day alleged to be ‘his death!?’ When Christ observed the Lord’s Supper with his disciples, it was a solemn moment where he gave his body in form of bread and his blood in form of wine to them that they should remember His death till he comes. Every special moment that Christ ever wanted his disciples to observe is given them, among which was not found the celebration of his birth. His aim is to make man know his Salvation plan for them and the gift of eternal life to all that will believe on his sacrificial blood that was shed. It is true that many Christians ignorantly celebrates Christmas as a day when Christ was born, but the best way not to go against God is not to go beyond the Bible. We must not follow the world to do what we can’t defend its origin.

Flee from idolatry!

“But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” – 1 Peter 3:14,15

  1. Anywhere you are just remain there,
Whatever and however you are worshiping just be righteous and be good to humanity: no hard philosophy to anyone: there exist 101 religions or modes of worship in the world, don’t distract any body with yours:

However, Jesus didn’t tell us to be keeping and reading the scripture from smart phones or keep it on the internet, though no evidence that said it must be in a scroll and the apostles use scrolls.

Jesus didn’t tell us to celebrate his birthday yes: the condition the city was at that time when he was given birth to, was not one that allow such: in fact the 3 wise men that tries to celebrate it, pay homage, didn’t have the freedom to express themselves, instead it was secret.

And who knows, if heavenly hosts didn’t actually celebrate his successful delivery.

WHY DOME SOME PEOPLE NOT CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS?, HAVE ASKED, WHY SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT CHRISTIAN AT ALL.

Yes, if you can not behave almost like the people you want to convert, it is difficult for you to do so, the people celebrating Christmas what they doing is not wrong, provided that it is Christ they are proclaiming, anybody who got another thing on his mind is on his own. If Jesus didn’t become man, took flesh and behave like us, it will be difficult for him to convince us, aside that some people are not convince till now. It is hard to turn a whole nation(like Rome) from what they know to what they don’t know, but today they Christians. Who knows what Christians at that time pass through to achieve this.

Bible itself respects customs/culture or tradition. Actually the way things went on in the scripture are actually the custom of the people the Bible describes, yes human made custom and they can choose to change it. In fact some things in the scripture was done either according to the custom of the people Luke 2:27 (presentation of the child Jesus in the temple by his parent), John 18:39 or according to personal custom Acts 17:2….. Acts 25:16.
However it is not right to adopt whatever people are worshiping like the at Psalm 106:34-35 who started worshiping idol. No no. Christmas is for the birth of Christ if some said he is celebrating sun gods, na hin sabi.

Elders of the Church has been given right to do some certain things (Mathew 18:18). Jesus, nor the holy spirit didn’t tell his apostles to replace Judas Is-cariot but they did so, by taken Mathias. Was there any revelation, even by Apostle Paul that condemns it??

Christ must not tell you to celebrate his birthday before you do so, but you celebrate your families and friends birthday.

Leave all those, provided how and what you are worshiping is related to Christ truthfully. Then what is there.

Meet anybody ask why do you celebrate Christmas, if the person said it is because it a fixed day of the birth of Christ fine. Prophets of old have talked about his coming.

What is wrong if some because of Christmas went ahead and visit Orphans and the poor helping them basics of life and foods…The person who use it for bad is still on his own.

If the only things that are wrong with Christmas is that:
    1. Christ didn’t say that we should celebrate: though he has given us power to bind and loss.

    2. 25th December is not his birthday: Tell me his birthday, let refix it, Christ has authorize to. Math 18:18

    3. It is the birthday of sun god::: Converting soul is not easy.. why African was easy to convert is because it was merged with schools(missionary school, and they were so ignorant of the people that met them, they don’t know their left and right), that is why the number of people speaking English in Southern Nigerian is more than the people in the Norther part, because they were afraid of being converted to christian so they shun western education. So tell me at time how can the missionary convert them???

    4. No historical evidence birthday: At least history start from somewhere

All these(Christmas is not be celebrated) how does it contribute to making peace in the world(that comprises different believes), or to develop better technology IN Africa????

But all these does not mean a thing:
What about other religion, are they wrong with what they are doing?, You can not actually guaranty that your is better, yes you have evidences that written your holy book and also is still in the present day world, so also they all have theirs( written in their own holy book and still present in today world).

IN FACT THE WAY YOU WORSHIP IS STILL THE TRADITION OF THE PEOPLE THAT HANDED THAT MODE OF WORSHIP TO YOU, YOU MERELY TRY TO CHANGE THINGS TO SUIT YOUR CUSTOM/NORM/TRADITION EVEN SEASON OF THE YEAR.

Leave all that bite at night to be mosquito:
The most and the greatest religion is to Love, to do good to one another and reject hatred and envy.

    1. Thanks for speaking your mind, Tesla. However, You are wrong. Did you say, “Don’t preach, but just show love?” If you don’t try to give others the light of God’s word that set them free because you don’t want to bug them, but just show them love, at the end, you will be the most wicked person. Love speaks the truth no matter if the people don’t readily accept it. And if you feel that all that matters is to just love people and leave them in darkness, at the end the same people you are just loving without showing them the way will hold you responsible.
The truth is heavy to bear. But whosoever will receive it, let him receive it.

The point is, you missed the whole thing. Am not debating with anyone about this because God’s word remains sure, heaven and earth shall pass away but not a jot or titl of His word shall pass. What I passed across through this post is for people to know the origin of what seem to be Christ’s birth which is not but a pagan ritual that was perhaps deceptively crafted into the Christendom. True, many celebrate it ignorantly even Christians and that is the reason for the post ‘What you may not know about Christmas’ because ignorance is no excuse before God, even before our own law. So it is better we ask questions and know the reason why we do the things we do. Moreover, the post was targeted toward Christians, and when I say Christians, I mean those who are genuinely born again, so that they will know the mind of God. The natural man may not accept this but Christians (children of God who genuinely have gotten the Salvation experience) must follow the Word (Jesus) if they must be saved at last. We stop where the Bible stop and do only what he commands, every other thing is excess.

So this is not a debate. If you bring a thousand reasons why Christmas celebration should not be hindered, it is your opinion. Every true believer follow God’s standard not the general opinion of the world.

Talking of love, love will do everything to show others the way. That’s what Christ did by dying on the cross so that we can have life through his death. It cost him his life to give others eternal life. At the cost of this, he was ridiculed, accused by the Scribes and Pharisees, those who thought they were expert in the law of Moses, but he never failed to still reprove and rebuke them for their error even though he was later crucified.

      Love will expose the truth

      Love is light

Love correct the wrong and not indulge in it

      This love will still conquer

  2. Sorry. Poster mass in the Roman Catholic Church does not mean prayer offered for the dead. And in as Uche as you try to paint Christmas as a pagan practice, it doesn’t change the fact that this celebration brings people together and also enables to express the love we ought to show for one another.

    1. Thanks Talia for sharing your thought. I’m not trying to paint a thing but speaking the truth in the light of God’s word. Just like I’ve said earlier in the post, you may not see what’s wrong in celebrating Christmas because you don’t know its origin and so do many others, but that doesn’t change the truth that it has nothing to do with celebrating Christ’s birth even though many have come to think it to be so. The date which Christ was born was not mentioned in the New Testament. There is no Christian church with a tradition that Jesus was really born on December 25th. Many of the most popular Christian customs – including Christmas trees, mistletoe, Christmas presents, Santa Claus – are modern incarnations of the most depraved pagan rituals ever practiced on earth. And if you say that this celebration is one that brings people together and also enables them express the love they ought to show to one another, don’t you think it’s faulty? Are we enabled only to express love one to another on December 25th?
